Credit counseling often involves negotiating with creditors to establish a debt management plan (DMP) for a consumer. A DMP may help the debtor repay his or her debt by working out a repayment plan with the creditor. Credit counseling can consolidate your payments and get you out of debt in about one third the normal time. So instead of just sitting back and watching your bills grow larger each month, take a minute to fill out our free consultation form. Credit counseling organizations may not charge an extra fee for the certificate.

Debt programs and solutions are available for all 50 states. Debt settlement is a negotiation by a settlement service provider or lawyer with your creditors to pay back a portion of your unsecured debt. You make monthly deposits into a debt settlement account in an amount you can afford. Debt relief encompasses a wide variety of services offered on a nationwide basis. Depending on your personal finances, consumer credit counseling can mean getting a grip on spending, finding ways to resolve tough credit problems, and learning to live comfortably without credit, or at least cutting back on the credit that you do have.

Consumer credit counseling is an alternative for consumers experiencing financial difficulties and unable to make their minimum payments. But consumer credit counseling organizations typically attempt to reduce the interest rate and fees on your debts, not the balances themselves. Consumers need a resource they can trust to provide effective credit counseling to help them emerge from their financial struggles. AICCCA members are non-profit, personal financial management service providers that offer free, confidential counseling by trained, certified counselors. Consumer Credit Counseling Service is a non-profit agency with the goal of helping people to solve their financial crises. We invite you to give us a call to find out more about how we can help you, your family or your employees.

Experienced credit counselors listen to you and your needs, and then help you develop a plan of action you can follow. No confusing gimmicks or overwhelming options. Experienced consumer credit counselors are able to make beneficial agreements between you and your creditors, such as no interest on existing balances, as long as you agree to make the monthly payment to the agency who is handling your situation.

Debt builds up over time. While a counseling agency can help negotiate the interest rate or a payment plan, it will take some years to pay off that debt. Debt negotiation is not the same thing as credit counseling or a DMP. It can be very risky and have a long term negative impact on your credit report and, in turn, your ability to get credit. Debt free life is a precious and unique gift being presented by debt consolidation loans. And to obtain that gift you are not required to move out of your place and put forth futile efforts.

Spreadsheets are still excellent for complex budgets and planning. There are also tools that automate data entry and budgeting in a spreadsheet, e.g. SpreadsheetZONE featuring one of the biggest Microsoft Excel template repositories on the web. Supported by an active community, Excel Pros SpreadsheetZONE grows rapidly, delivering new templates every day.

Create a list of all of the expenses you have paid, separated by category and month. For example, you will have a list of "entertainment" expenses for the month of "June" consisting of movies, dining out, going to clubs, enjoying a hobby or other ways you entertain yourself during the month. Create different budgets for side-by-side comparison. Creating a budget and estimating expenses is never perfect the first time. You will need to go through a few iterations.

Expenses such as utilities, gas, food and entertainment may change from month to month, so the best way to figure them into your budget is to come up with a monthly average for each one. Over a three month period, keep a record of how much you spend on each of these things and then figure out, on average, how much you're spending each month. Expense Tracker is ideal for tracking home, household and club expenses as well. You can even use it to track your business expenses and create expense reports. Expenses and income are recorded by the user.

Add up income amounts against expense amounts and find the difference to determine surplus or deficit. Adding a new transaction is remarkably easy. Quickly add a new one-time or recurring transaction from the sidebar form or the 'New' dialog on the toolbar, specify the type of transaction: Expense, Income, or Refund.

Track spending and saving, plan and set goals and track your monthly spending and try to account for every dollar spent. For the next month or two, think very closely about how your money is spent.

Creating a personal budget is easier than you think and can give you deep insight into where you are at financially and where you could go. I recommend using a spreadsheet application (Google Docs is free) to create expense and income columns to get a running total of your expenses, which you can update when necessary.
